This Privacy Policy describes how AI Sidebar ("the Extension", "we", "us", or "our"), developed and operated by I/E Igor Zuev ("Online Tools Studio"), collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our Chrome browser extension and web application at sidebarai.online.

1. What Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide AI Sidebar's functionality. Below is a comprehensive list of all data collected:

1.1 Data You Provide Directly

• Cookies from websites you visit
• Form data on websites you visit
• Personal identifiable information (name, phone, address)
• Location data

2. How We Use Your Data

• Chat Messages & Voice Input: Sent to third-party AI models (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude) via our API gateway to generate AI responses. Messages are not stored on our servers after the response is delivered.
• Page Content: Sent to AI models only when you explicitly request it, to provide context-aware answers about the page you are viewing.
• Anonymous User ID: Used to authenticate your subscription, track your remaining query balance, and manage your account through the paywall system.
• Install Event: Used for aggregate analytics (total install count). No personally identifiable information is included.

3. How We Store Your Data

3.1 Local Storage (On Your Device)

The following data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.sync). This data never leaves your device unless explicitly described in this policy:

3.2 Server-Side Storage

We do not maintain a separate database of your conversations or personal data. Chat messages are transmitted to AI models in real-time and are not stored on our servers after the AI response is delivered. Your subscription status and token balance are managed by our payment processor (AppBox).

4. Third-Party Services We Share Data With

We share data with the following third parties, strictly for the purposes described:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose.

5. Permissions Used by the Extension

AI Sidebar requests the following Chrome permissions:

6. Content Scripts

AI Sidebar injects a small content script into web pages. This script:

• Listens for requests from the extension to read the current page title and text content (triggered only when you use the "Read Page" feature)
• Enables voice input via the browser's Web Speech API (triggered only when you click the microphone button)
• Does not automatically collect, read, or transmit any page data without your explicit action
• Does not modify web page content, inject ads, or track your browsing

7. Data Security

• All data transmitted between the extension and our API gateway is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
• Chat history is stored locally on your device and is not accessible to us
• Authentication tokens are stored securely in Chrome's extension storage, isolated from web pages
• The extension's Content Security Policy restricts script execution to prevent code injection
• External communication is limited to appbox.space via Chrome's externally_connectable manifest field

8. Data Retention & Deletion

• Chat history: Stored locally until you delete it. You can delete individual chats or all chats from the sidebar menu at any time.
• Preferences: Stored locally until you change them or uninstall the extension.
• Anonymous User ID: Retained in Chrome sync storage. Removed when you uninstall the extension or clear Chrome sync data.
• Subscription data: Managed by AppBox. Contact info@onlinetools.studio to request account deletion.

Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data from your device.

9. Children's Privacy

AI Sidebar is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at info@onlinetools.studio and we will take steps to delete such information.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request information about data we hold about you
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data
• Portability: Your chat data is stored locally on your device and is accessible to you at any time
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Opt-out: You can stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it

11. International Data Transfers

Your chat messages are transmitted through servers that may be located outside your country of residence, including the United States. By using AI Sidebar, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations. All transfers are protected by HTTPS encryption.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at sidebarai.online/privacy-notice with a revised effective date. Continued use of AI Sidebar after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
